How to actually fix your stream.

Postby Dag » Tue Oct 04, 2016 4:25 pm

IMPORTANT: If you have used the old fix in the past, please be sure that you REMOVE it.

Lcog's Quick TLDR:

If you've used the old CORS fix in the past, please uninstall it.
(Most users do not need to do this. Click here if you need the CORS removal instructions)
  1. Install the "tampermonkey" extension to your browser:
  2. Install the HTML5 player script -> https://nreboot.com/js/google-drive.user.js
PLEASE! DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP! This script teaches tampermonkey how to use our HTML5 player.
  3. That's it!

Detailed Walkthroughs:

Installing the new player on Google Chrome:
  1. Go to the Tampermonkey install page: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/tampermonkey/dhdgffkkebhmkfjojejmpbldmpobfkfo?hl=en
  2. Click on the "Add to Chrome" button.

  3. Click on Install

  4. Click on this link: https://nreboot.com/js/google-drive.user.js
  5. Click on "Install"

  6. That's it. You've done it. :)

Installing the new player on Mozilla Firefox:
  1. Install Tampermonkey for Firefox by going to the install page: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tampermonkey/
  2. Click "Add to Firefox" and then click on "Install" on the dialog that pops up
  3. Click on this link: https://nreboot.com/js/google-drive.user.js
  4. Click on "Install"
  5. That's it. You've done it. :)

How to remove the old "CORS" extension:
(Most users do not need to do this.)

If you have used the old fix in the past
  1. Click the hamburger menu icon on the Google Chrome toolbar and then More tools.

  2. Select More tools from the menu.
  3. Select Extensions from the side menu

Worked for me using Chrome! It seems like a lot of steps at first but actually is pretty simple, especially if you already have Greasemonkey installed. :D

Fullscreen mode does not work with this new Tampermonkey fix. That is, Fullscreen is enabled, but the video is displayed in the upper-left corner with a Play Video, Pause, and Non-Fullscreen button and

Mute
Current Time
Duration Time
Loaded: 0%
Progress: 0%
Remaining Time

This isn't working for me in Chrome. It still has no controls and the video off center. I uninstalled CORS and I already had Tampermonkey installed so I hoped that I would just need to add the extension Dag made but it's still not working sadly.

Still can't get any controls either without refreshing the player with CORS. I should also note that CORS is causing my Facebook chat to malfunction so I am having to turn it off immediately after turning it on and refreshing the player.

Hey djskein,

Please remove the CORS extension completely. If you have issues getting the userscript to work, please PM me on IRC and we can figure it out :)

Got it working after following the instructions exactly by removing CORS and reinstalling Tampermonkey and script respectively. But I have to agree with a few other posters here in saying that fullscreen does not work properly in Chrome. It only displays the video in a box in the corner of the screen with buttons listed underneath and a white background taking up most of the screen. The regular controls disappear completely after you go fullscreen too.
